Dave Jarrat is the Founder & CEO of Jarrat Consulting, a strategy and marketing firm focused on accelerating the growth of great social impact organizations.

Dave’s work draws on his decades of experience in executive roles at mission-driven, venture-backed companies and nonprofits, as well as his extensive expertise in the fields of higher education, environmental sustainability and business.

From 2010 to 2021, Dave led strategic engagement and growth at InsideTrack, a prominent student success organization. As a member of the executive leadership team, he was responsible for all stakeholder engagement, thought leadership, marketing, research, policy and industry relations activities. When InsideTrack was acquired in 2017 by Strada Education Network, a $1.5 billion public charity focused on improving higher education outcomes, Dave led the public-facing side of the transition from for-profit to nonprofit, while also supporting Strada and its subsidiaries with their own marketing efforts.

Before joining InsideTrack, Dave spent nearly two decades in the environmental and technology fields. Including serving as the interim VP of marketing for several CleanTech companies.

Since early 2021, Dave has been advising leadership teams at a wide range of education-related organizations, including Cambridge University, the University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA), Edquity and Scholarships360. His work has ranged from general strategy to marketing to organizational and professional development.

Dave holds a B.A. in Environmental Science, Economics and Politics from Claremont McKenna College and a Masters in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

He has authored numerous papers on social impact issues. His research and opinions have appeared in popular media outlets including NBC News, US News & World Report, the Chronicle of Higher Education and Inside Higher Ed. He is also a regular speaker at industry events and conferences.

Outside of work, Dave spends time with his wife, traveling, competing in endurance races and enjoying the vast natural, cultural, culinary and other offerings of their Venice, CA home. Dave also serves on the Board of his local Boys & Girls Club, where he leads financial literacy and educational opportunity programs for teens.
